Our Goal
Our strategic objectives focus on addressing the root causes of poverty and inequality, and contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals through implementing Water, Sanitation and Hygiene initiatives in communities lacking adequate infrastructure by ensuring access to clean water, proper sanitation, and hygiene services, including support for households with persons with disabilities, to foster healthy and sustainable living conditions.
WE-LEAD Ethiopia Signs WASH Project Agreement with Koysha Woreda Administration
WE-LEAD Ethiopia has signed a Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) project agreement with the Koysha Woreda Administration, with funding support from the German Embassy.
The project will be implemented in Oshka Kebele in collaboration with the Woreda Water, Health, and Finance Offices. It will develop three spring water schemes and provide community training on safe water management, sanitation, handwashing, and menstrual hygiene.
Through improved access to safe and sustainable water services and strengthened community capacity, the project aims to improve health and dignity and reduce waterborne diseases, particularly among children and vulnerable community members.
WE-LEAD Ethiopia signed a project agreement with the German Embassy in Addis Ababa to implement “Water Supply, Sanitation, and Hygiene for a Healthy Home.”
The project will serve the Tsara community in the Konta-Koisha Woredas of Konta Zone, South West Ethiopia Region, benefiting more than 2,000 people, including disadvantaged girls and women. The project will develop and protect three water sources to improve access to safe spring water while also promoting sustainable water, sanitation, and hygiene (WaSH) practices through community training.
The project agreement was signed from the German Embassy by the Deputy Head of Mission, Dr. Ferdinand von Weyehe, and from WE-LEAD Ethiopia, by the Executive Director, Mr. Tefera Endalew Yayeh. The German Embassy was represented at the event by the Department of Development Cooperation Officer, Hanan Hussien.
WE-LEAD Ethiopia is grateful to the German Embassy for this partnership and looks forward to working with the Tsara community and local government to bring sustainable change.

As part of health campaigns conducted with volunteer medical teams, WE-LEAD Ethiopia has constructed public latrines with strong community involvement to enhance sanitation and hygiene in the communities served.
